Amazon · Launch Program Manager II · June 2020
DIN4. The Win.
The first dual-sided load building launched in North America for Amazon Delivery Operations — with the first conveyor system of its kind running inside it. I led the AMZL launch program that got it live on June 30, 2020, in the middle of COVID.
Context
Mid-2020 was not a normal time to launch a facility. The world was locked down, Amazon volume was spiking as everyone shifted to online delivery, and the network needed more throughput with zero room for error on safety.
DIN4 was the answer: the first dual-sided load building design launched anywhere in North America for Amazon Delivery Operations, paired with a new conveyor system that had never been built for delivery ops before. Dual-sided load building meant more capacity out of the same footprint — exactly what the network needed when volume was climbing and nobody had the luxury of building new buildings fast enough to keep up.
Approach
Owned end-to-end launch execution for a first-of-its-kind facility, from design review through go-live.
Managed 3PL and startup activities to Amazon's safety and design standards under pandemic constraints.
Field-engineered sustainable solutions across launch planning, process design, and design engineering.
Managed my portion of the $5M+ capex I was accountable for across AMZL launches that period.
Ran quality audits and design review escalations on anything touching associate safety, launch volume, or labor plans.
Outcome
Dual-sided load building
In North America for Amazon Delivery Operations.
Conveyor of its kind
New system for delivery ops.
Launched
Mid-COVID. Volume spiking. Zero excuses.
Capex across AMZL launches
My owned portfolio during this period.
Reflection
COVID-era launches taught me that constraints don't slow real operators down — they clarify the plan. When there's no slack in the system, you find out fast what actually matters.
